Lefty at Leela NYC last weekend. Actors Glenn Ghihardi and N’Tasha Anders were wonderful under the direction of Kevin Vavasseur.

Come see the new play I haven't written yet!

Psyched to be participating in the Leela NYC Play in a Day Event. I'll start writing Saturday night, and my play will be on stage Sunday 9/25 at 6:30 p.m.! Wine and birthday cake reception to follow. The best part: Leela is a company dedicated to non-traditional casting, so I won't know the age, race or gender of the actors I'm writing for until I show up at rehearsal. Get you tickets now. Happy belated birthday Leela!

Snacks with Mabel

She spent a fortune chasing beauty from Florence to New York to Provincetown. Her turn of the century salon attracted revolutionary artists like Gertrude Stein, and activists like Margaret Sanger and Emma Goldman. But Mabel Dodge Luhan never felt at home until the day she entered the Taos, and came home to a land she had only seen in dreams.

My new one act, Portrait of Mabel, debuts at Casa de Beverly's One Acts and Snacks reading series September 17th. Tickets are available now!

The White Nile

Pleased to be part of another 365-Women-A-Year reading this March 23 at Theatre for the New City. You can find all the info on the group's facebook page.

My play The White Nile tells the story of Alexine Tinne's epic journey across Africa with her mother and aunt -- at a time when female explorers were an anomaly, and women traveling without men were considered crazy.
